South Korean Model Kim Jong-Suk Passes Away At 29; Family Issues Official Statement Amid Rumors
South Korean model and reality TV figure Kim Jong‑Suk, aged 29, tragically passed away on June 4, 2025. His family confirmed the news on June 6, coinciding with his funeral, while the exact cause of death remains undisclosed, speculation has been swirling. Some have linked his passing to a separate incident in Hanam, Gyeonggi‑do—a violent episode involving a man in his 20s allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, who later died by suicide after jumping from a high‑rise. No official connection between Kim and that event has been established. Nevertheless, the timing of these events heightened public curiosity .
In response, Kim’s older sister issued a heartfelt plea via social media, urging the public to stop spreading “absurd,” baseless rumors. She wrote:
“We are in the middle of funeral preparations, overwhelmed and heartbroken… The bereaved family is suffering greatly because false information about Jong‑seok is being spread… Please let the deceased rest in peace. Any maliciously posted posts will be reported to the cyber investigation team.”
She further revealed that, to protect his memory, the family initially stayed silent, but the rapid spread of defamatory narratives compelled them to act. She stated they are arranging for a summary of the police report and statements from a friend who was with Kim at the time
Kim’s funeral took place on June 6 at Maru Park Funeral Home in Hanam, followed by burial at Chuncheon Rest Garden and Yanggu Memorial Park
