From the past few days, Bollywood celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Neha Dhupia, Renuka Shahane, Dino Morea, Vir Das and Pulkit Samrat among others have been complaining about the insane rise in their electricity bills. Taking to social media, the celebs have been asking the Mumbai electricity board to clarify the reason behind the steep electricity bills they received for June. Just like the celebs, netizens have raised an objection with the amount charged in their monthly cycle.

Well, the exorbitant electricity bills have not only got one and all talking but it has also triggered some hilarious memes. Sharing a collage of Jetha Lal’s expression a user wrote, “Looking at 3 months’ consolidated electricity bill,” while another used Nawazuddin’s ‘Chand par hai apun’ and wrote, “After receiving high electricity bill in June. Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu asked the electricity board a question in a sarcastic way and wrote, “3 months of lockdown and I wonder what appliance(s) I have newly used or bought in the apartment only last month to have such an insane rise in my electricity bill. @Adani_Elec_Mum what kind of POWER r u charging us for?”


“And this one is for an apartment where no one stays n it’s only visited once in a week for cleaning purpose @Adani_Elec_Mum I am now worried if someone is actually using the apartment without our knowledge and you have helped us uncover the reality,” read another tweet.
