It’s no secret, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fans have been missing Disha Vakani, who once played one of the most loved and significant characters on the show. While the character has been missing from the show for over six years, fans have been constantly eager to learn the details of her return to reprise the role of Dayaben. However, there might be good news for all the TMKOC fans. 

The show recently completed 15 years and producer Asit Modi made a big announcement that he would be soon bringing back fans’ favourite Disha Vakani aka Dayaben. 

He said, “In this journey of 15 years, a hearty congratulations to all of them. One such artist is whom we cannot forget. That artist isDaya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani. She has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah."


The fan-favourite show has been in production for almost 15 years now. In these years, several actors have exited from the show including Disha Vakani, Bhavya Gandhi, Shailesh Lodha and Neha Mehta among others. 

Recently, Raj Anadkat, who used to play the role of Tappu in the popular sitcom, also left the show.

Earlier in March this year, Asit Kumar Modi had also spoken up about the back-to-back exits of many actors from his show. Speaking to News18 Showsha, he said, “I am looking for new Daya Bhabhi. It is not easy to play the role of Dayaben. Everyone knows the way Disha Vakani did it. Even today, she is missed. It is not easy to find a new person for the role. This does not mean I am afraid. I am not afraid but I am looking for perfection. It is impossible to take Disha’s place. Her performance was great but I am finding somebody who can impress everyone with her style. It takes time but we will have Dayaben back soon."


However, the actor has now shared an update about finding the new Dayaben, Asit said, “I am looking for new Daya Bhabhi. It is not easy to play the role of Dayaben. Everyone knows the way Disha Vakani did it. Even today, she is missed. It is not easy to find a new person for the role. This does not mean I am afraid. I am not afraid but I am looking for perfection. It is impossible to take Disha’s place. Her performance was great but I am finding somebody who can impress everyone with her style. It takes time but we will have Dayaben back soon."
