Tamannaah Bhatia Blames Instagram For Auto-Liking Post Supporting Deepika Padukone: Says, ‘Random People Are Making This News’
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film "Spirit," actress Tamannaah Bhatia found herself inadvertently entangled in the situation. The issue arose when netizens noticed that Tamannaah had liked an Instagram reel featuring a clip from a 2020 "Chhapaak" press conference. In the video, Deepika firmly addresses a reporter's assumption that her husband, Ranveer Singh, financed the film, asserting, "Excuse me, yeh mere khud ke paise hain. Kisne bola yeh? Yeh meri khud ki mehnat hai."
The reel's caption highlighted challenges faced by women in professional settings, such as sexism, gender pay gaps, and misogyny. Tamannaah's apparent endorsement of the post led to speculation that she was supporting Deepika amid the "Spirit" controversy.
However, Tamannaah promptly addressed the situation on her Instagram Story, denying any intentional support. She wrote, "Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own? Cause random ppl are making this news and I really have work to do."
The "Spirit" controversy began when Deepika reportedly exited the project due to disagreements over working hours and remuneration. Subsequently, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter), accusing an unnamed actor of breaching confidentiality and questioning their professionalism. He wrote, "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the ... ... Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story ... ?"
The role initially intended for Deepika has since been recast, with Triptii Dimri stepping in as the female lead opposite Prabhas. This marks Triptii's second collaboration with Vanga after their work on "Animal."
Tamannaah's clarification underscores the complexities of social media interactions and the potential for misinterpretation, especially amid high-profile industry disputes.
