Teachers' Day 2019: Sachin Tendulkar Pens A Heartfelt Note For Coach Ramakant Achrekar, Says He Will Always Be Grateful To Him
Being Teachers Day, many took to social media to extend their gratitude to their respective Gurus. Sachin Tendulkar did the same. He posted a message for his coach Ramakant Achrekar who breathed his last in January this year.
Being Teachers’ Day, Sachin Tendulkar made it a point to remember his Guru, Late Ramakant Achrekar. The cricket legend took to Twitter and wrote a lengthy, heart-touching post dedicated to his coach. Ramakant Achrekar played a fundamental role in shaping Sachin Tendulkar’s career in cricket. He was the one who actually taught Sachin the basics of cricket and how to be a master at it. On Teachers’ Day, Sachin is grateful to Achrekar for all the lessons he taught him.
Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Teachers impart not just education but also values. Achrekar Sir taught me to play straight - on the field and in life. I shall always remain grateful to him for his immeasurable contribution in my life. His lessons continue to guide me today. #TeachersDay.” He attached this post with a throwback picture from his childhood. It is a black and white image and we see him being trained by Ramakant Achrekar.

It was in January that Ramakant Achrekar breathed his last and it was Sachin Tendulkar who carried out his last rites. Sachin was in tears as he bid adieu to his coach. Upon his death, Sachin Tendulkar had quoted, “Cricket in heaven will be enriched with the presence of Achrekar Sir. Like many of his students, I learnt my ABCD of cricket under Sir's guidance. His contribution to my life cannot be captured in words. He built the foundation that I stand on."
