TikTok's Competition ‘Mitron’ Is Here; Clocks Five Million Downloads Within A Month
While the social media continues to fight the YouTube vs TikTok Battle, IIT Roorkee student Shivank Agarwal has developed a new app named ‘Mitron’ that is giving a tough competition to the Chinese app. Mitron is touted to be TikTok’s rival app in India. Almost 3 weeks back, we saw YouTuber CarryMinati and TikToker Amir Siddiqui getting into an ugly spat over the platforms. The war escalated so much that CarryMinati aka Ajey Nagar’s roast video was taken down from the YT platform. It apparently violated YouTube’s bullying and harassment policy.

As this war divided netizens into two, we saw a major drop in TikTok’s ratings on Google Play Store. Many came out in support of CarryMinati and deleted the Chinese app. Now an ITT student has developed Mitron App, which is a clone of TikTok and lets users share typical short videos on the platform, just like TikTok. Isn’t that amazing? Mitron was launched almost a month back and just within one month, Mitron has clocked 5 million downloads. Not only that, but it has also become 2nd most downloaded app on Google play store India. The government’s Aarogya Setu continues to be the number one downloaded app.

More over that, Mitron is said to be enjoying half a million installs per day. For those who don’t know, after China, India is TikTok’s largest market, which accounts for over 30.3 percent or 611 million app downloads.
