Scary is the aptest word to describe the ongoing situation across the world, thanks to the coronavirus outbreak. What started from China has now reached to countries like Japan, USA, Germany, Italy, India, Russia and Canada among many others. As a consequence of the same and in order to take preventive health measures, a lot of events, films, and sports tournaments are being canned, shut down or deprived of live audiences to avoid the escalation of coronavirus. One such case is that of UEFA’s Champions League and Europa League matches.
As per Reuters, UEFA has pushed all the pending Champions League and Europa League matches to next week, due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak worldwide. The official statement given by the European football’s governing body on Friday read, “In the light of developments due to the spread of COVID-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments, all UEFA club competitions matches scheduled next week are postponed.” This announcement came ahead of a crisis meeting, which is slated to be held on Tuesday.
In the same, UEFA will discuss all the possible options for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament, which is scheduled for June and July. It turns out that it will be postponed too. Not a very good piece of news for all the football fans out there.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, the team that was slated to head to Bayern Munich for a last16 Champions League match on Wednesday, have announced that their player Callum Hudon-Odio has been diagnosed with coronavirus and the whole team is in quarantine.
