Ukraine Singer Uma Shanti BOOKED, As She FLINGS The Tricolour At The Crowd In A Pune Concert- Read Reports
Ukrainian singer Uma Shanti enjoys a huge fan following on social media. She is the front woman for a Ukrainian band Shanti People, who mix EDM (electronic dance music) with Vedic mantras. She and one other recently came under fire for allegedly disrespecting the tricolour during a concert in Pune on Monday.

On the eve of the 77th Independence Day, she was performing at a musical event, which was organised in a restaurant-cum-bar in Mundhwa, Pune, states Hindustan Times. According to the media publication, the singer was dancing with the tricolour in both of her hands during the concert and then proceeded to fling it towards the crowd. Videos of the same immediately went viral on social media.

As reported by Indian Express, Havaldar Tanaji Deshmukh  lodged an First Information Report (FIR) at the Koregaon Park police station after he came across the video. Senior police inspector Vishnu Tamhane confirmed with the media publication that an offence was lodged against Uma and the event organiser Kartik More. According to HT, they have been booked under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.

The report further states that the singer and the event organiser were issued a notice. The notice asked them to join the probe of the incident. Further details on the matter are still awaited.

For the unversed, the band is currently on an India tour. They have already performed their concerts in Bengaluru and Bhopal, last week. Shanti has earlier performed in Pune in October 2022. This was her second concert.
