One of the beauty pageant contestants Vaidehi Dongre who was born in India and raised in the US is now touching new heights of success. The 25-year-old beauty has now been crowned as Miss India USA while Arshi Lalani from Georgia was declared as the first runner up. On the other hand, Mira Kasari from North Carolina has been declared the second runner up. Talking about her goals in life, Dongre who graduated from the University of Michigan aims to leave a positive impact on her society as well as to focus on women's financial independence and literacy.

"I want to leave a positive lasting impact on my community and focus on women's financial independence and literacy," Vaidehi was quoted saying by The Hindu. Earlier in June, after she represented India in the beauty pageant show, she had shared a picture of herself wearing the tiara and expressed her joy. She wrote, “Thrilled to be representing the state of Michigan at Miss India USA in July! The Miss India USA pageants have always provided a platform to empower and encourage women of Indian origin. As a little girl having been born in India and raised in the US, I have always straddled the line between Indian & American culture and values & discovered all the amazing gifts that both have to offer.”

“I believe that the Miss India USA platform will give me the confidence & resources to further my goals, and leave a positive lasting impact on my community. Wish me luck This one is for my Aai (Mom)” she continued.
