Water Tank Bursts On Ram Charan’s ‘The India House’ Set, Causing Sudden Flood And Injuries To Several Crew Members During Shoot - Read Report
A major accident unfolded on the set of Ram Charan’s upcoming production, The India House, during a high-intensity ocean scene shoot near Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad. A massive water tank—designed to simulate ocean waves—suddenly ruptured, unleashing thousands of litres of water across the filming set.The burst triggered what resembled a flash flood, catching crew members off guard.

In a devastating moment captured on a widely viewed video, staff were seen scrambling to secure expensive cameras and lighting equipment as the deluge swept them off their feet. An assistant cinematographer was among those injured—along with several other crew members—by the fast-moving water.

Production came to an abrupt halt as rescue efforts began. Injured technicians were rushed to a nearby private hospital in Hyderabad, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Authorities are conducting an internal probe to determine how the water tank failed and whether safety protocols were sufficiently enforced.

The India House—Ram Charan’s debut production announced in May 2023 to commemorate the 140th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar—is a period drama set in pre-independence India . The project stars Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead role, supported by Saiee Manjrekar and veteran actor Anupam Kher.

It is directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna and co-produced by Vikram Reddy and Abhishek Agrawal in association with Charan’s production house. As the shoot remains suspended, the team aims to assess and reinforce safety measures before production resumes. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable hazards present during large-scale action and special-effects filmmaking.
