What, Is Greta Thunberg Really 'Basically Just Kim Kardashian'? Internet Reacts To Sensational Online Article
17-year-old Greta Thunberg, from Sweden, became a household name after her hard-hitting speech on the rapid climate change and its adverse effects on the environment had hit the web. Her statements opened to a mixed response; while some lauded her and are giving it a thought, others have trolled Greta, by calling it a sheer publicity stunt. Now, it appears that Greta has bagged her television show, which is going to be a documentary on her role and journey as the fact of climate change activism. An opinion piece of the same by ccn.com, which compares Greta to Kim Kardashian, has got the internet talking.

“So a major premise of the show is what it’s like for Greta Thunberg to be famous. In other words, she’s now famous for being famous. Like Kim Kardashian. Her supporters would disagree. They’d say she’s a climate change activist. But to be an activist, you actually have to do something. All Thunberg does is complain,” read an excerpt from ccn.com’s article. Well, this has now divided the netizens; while some agree, many have called out the publication for such harsh opinion.

Netizens expressed their agreement and displeasure by writing, “This girl became famous thanks to the arranged drama. I support her views on the environment, but I believe that she does not deserve such high attention to her person. Besides loud words, she did nothing for this world,” “I would dare to say she has accomplished more in her short life than the writer of this trash article,” “Unfollowed, fed up of your nonsense, non crypto opinion articles that mean literally nothing.”
