Urfi even never hesitates to talk about her traumatic past and sufferings in the public domain. In a recent interview, she opened up about her life as a 17-year-old in Lucknow and revealed how she suffered due to restrictions imposed to dress up in a certain way.
Speaking with The Humans Of Bombay, the internet sensation even mentioned that she even tried committing suicide. Urfi was quoted saying, “Growing up in Lucknow, I did not understand why I was stopped from dressing a certain way. I was mentally and physically abused; I even tried committing suicide but in that one moment, I decided to give my life a second chance. I ran away to Delhi. The actress went on to state that she took up odd jobs including one at a call center to support herself financially. From taking tuition to working in a call center, Urfi stay at her friends’ houses and did several odd jobs. She even recalled how her father was abusive and he left her and her mother alone. Urfi, who recently changed her name to Uorfi, mentioned her father used to hit her very badly.
Her life changed after she appeared in the Karan Johar-hosted reality show Boss OTT. She has also appeared in many music albums. Urfi is widely known for experimenting with fashion as she often steps out in the city wearing bizarre and bold outfits.
