Authorities confirmed that the threat message was received from a mobile number that has now been traced to a 56-year-old man named Azam Mohammed Mustafa from Bandra. He has since been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
This is not the first time Salman Khan has faced such threats. Earlier, a similar extortion message demanding ₹5 crore had also been sent via the same police helpline, suspected to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In April, two bike-borne assailants opened fire outside Khan’s residence in Bandra, further intensifying concerns over his safety.
In addition to Mustafa’s arrest, police have also taken action against another man from Noida who allegedly issued threats not only to Khan but also to a political leader from the Nationalist Congress Party. These incidents have prompted increased vigilance and tightened security around the actor’s residence and his movements.
Police sources revealed that the threats appear to be part of a larger plan allegedly orchestrated by organized crime networks. With the Bishnoi gang’s name surfacing repeatedly, officials are not taking any chances. Investigations are ongoing to identify any possible links and motives behind these threats.
As the probe deepens, authorities remain committed to ensuring the actor’s safety while also pursuing those who continue to issue such warnings.
