YouTube Sensation Lilly Singh Becomes The First Woman In 30 Years To Host A Late Night Show On American Television
Lilly Singh is on a roll. She is a hit on YouTube, her book has been a bestseller and now, she is going to rule as a host on American TV. She has become a host of a late-night show, something that no woman has been able to do in the last thirty years. She has become the first woman of colour to have a slot on TV which had been dominated by white male for years. She has found her place among shows like The Tonight’s Show With Jimmy Fallon and more. Her first show A Little Late with Lilly Singh premiered on Monday and she nailed it. Here’s her journey…

PBS NewsHour has released a video that demonstrates Lilly’s journey from being a YouTuber to a star on the late show. It’s about how she started making videos giving up on her studies and garnered an immense fan following. Her journey is indeed inspiring as she is one of the most successful vlogger one has ever witnessed. Watch the video below:

As her first show premiered on Monday, Lilly received rave reviews from the critics. The first guest on her show was Mindy Kaling who apparently inspired Lilly in several ways. Rainn Wilson of The Office also made an appearance on the show, which led people to think about the mini-reunion the cast of The Office could have possibly had. In the review, Deadline mentioned, “Taking over Last Call With Carson Daly, Lilly Singh not only brings her massive Superwoman audience from her YouTube following but also a fresh perspective that has been absent from the late-night space — and she immediately makes that apparent in her opening sketch.”
