YouTuber Jasbir Singh Arrested In Punjab's Rupnagar On Espionage Charges; Alleged Ties To Jyoti Malhotra And Pakistani Intelligence: Police
Jasbir Singh, a prominent YouTuber from Punjab with over 1.1 million subscribers on his channel "Jaan Mahal," was arrested on June 4, 2025, by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali. Singh, a resident of Mahlan village in Rupnagar district, faces allegations of involvement in a Pakistan-backed espionagenetwork .

According to Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, Singh maintained contacts with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, expelled Pakistan High Commission staffer Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, and Pakistan Intelligence Officer Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa. Investigations revealed that Singh attended the Pakistan National Day event in Delhi in March 2025 on Danish’s invitation, where he met Pakistani Army officials and vloggers. He had also traveled to Pakistan three times—in 2020, 2021, and 2024 .

Following Malhotra’s arrest last month on similar charges, Singh allegedly attempted to erase all traces of his communications with these Pakistani intelligence officers to avoid detection. An FIR has been registered at SSOC in Mohali, and investigations are underway to dismantle the broader espionage-terror network and identify allcollaborators .

Singh's arrest came a day after Punjab Police detained Gagandeep Singh from Tarn Taran on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan. Gagandeep Singh is accused of sharing sensitive information, including details about the movement of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) .

The arrests of Jasbir Singh and Jyoti Malhotra highlight the growing concerns over the misuse of social media platforms and digital content creators in facilitating espionage activities. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the espionage network and any additional individuals involved
