VIDEO: Will Ranveer Singh Drink Away Salman Khan's Thums Up?
Salman Khan has lost his plum Thums Up endorsement which paid him a bomb every year. There are growing whispers that the Bfiikre star, Ranveer Singh, may step into his shoes
It's all over for the Sultan
superstar Salman Khan in the Thums Up brand which he endorsed as their
costliest member till date. Coca-Cola has not renewed its contract with
him as the brand ambassador for Thums Up. Buzz is the aerated drink officials
are looking for younger faces to associate with the brand.
Reportedly, Ranveer Singh has been asked to get
into Salman's place.
This year, Bigg Boss is sponsored by a rival cola brand. The fact
that Salman chose to do Bigg Boss 10 didn't go down well with Thums Up.
A joint statement released by
Salman Khan and Coca-Cola India, the parent
company behind Thums Up, it has clearly
been stated that the actor’s contract has not been renewed citing his
association with a show which is sponsored by a rival brand. Here’s how the
statement reads:
“There have been some
media reports this evening that discusses the contractual agreements between
brand Thums up and Salman Khan. In light of the media interest and numerous
inquiries that both parties have received, we find it prudent to clarify that:
1. Salman Khan was committed to an existing relationship with a daily TV show,
which this year happens to be sponsored by a brand that competes with the
Coca-cola India product portfolio.
2. In light of this, both parties have mutually decided not to renew their
current contract.
We do not have any further information to provide at this point. We appreciate
your interest and outreach.”
Ranveer's next on celluloid is Aditya Chopra's
Befikre with Vaani Kapoor, while Salman will next be seen in Kabir Khan's
Tubelight.
Salman has more fans than Ranveer, so it will be
interesting to see how the aerated drink company in question plans to not
disturb the scales of its clientele.
