“Jab tak main zinda hoon tujhe kuch nahi hoga.”Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh is a fight and struggle of a
mother who has made this promise to her daughter.
And this promise of keeping the daughter safe amidst all
the gluttony and lust, kicks-starts the journey of Durga Rani Singh (Vidya
Balan) who turns into ‘Vidya Sinha’. This change of name holds a mystery which
unravels step-by-step as the sub-inspector Inderjeet Singh (Arjun Rampal) flips
through the pages of her diary. The diary not only puts forth the story of
Durga and her daughter, but also highlights prevailing dark side of society.
If we talk about the performances –
Vidya Balan after couple of box-office failures is back
in her form with quasi sequel of her 2011 Kahaani and has held the character
very well. Arjun Rampal justifies the character of a cop who hangs in between -
following his ‘gut feeling’ and promotion. His performance flows naturally.
Jugal Hansraj, who was always introduced and re-introduced as a chocolaty lover
boy has definitely left a mark with his performance.
Talking about the story and direction –
Screenplay flowed seamlessly and direction was crisp and
gripping. The look of the film was kept as realistic as possible.
SpotboyE.com's biggest film buff Sangya Lakhanpal took to
the theatre to review the film and gives it 4 stars. This film is a must-watch.
