We all know that
Vidya Balan’s Tumhari Sulu which was slated to release on December
1, 2017 is now hitting the theatres
on November 24. Now, as per
reports, the makers of Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starrer 102 Not Out
have opted to shift their date of release to avoid clash with Deepika Padukone,
Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmavati.
A source told a leading daily, “We had announced our release date months ago. Now, suddenly they [Padmavati's makers] postpone their film by two weeks with no thought to our inconvenience. The initial response was to take them on. But then, we decided to not ruin our chances, or theirs. We will come on a different date.”
Even Umesh Shulka, the director of the film, confirmed the news.
102 Not Out is based on Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play and features Big B and Rishi Kapoor. The duo last worked together in 1991 in Ajooba, which was directed by Shashi Kapoor and Gennadi Vasilyev. However, they have worked together in a number of cult films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhie Kabhie and Coolie- all of them were directed by Manmohan Desai.
Popular trade analyst, Taran Adrash had revealed Big B’s and Rishi Kapoor’s look for the film on his Twitter account. He shared the tweet with the caption, “Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor reunite after almost 3 decades for director Umesh Shukla's #102NotOut... Filming commences in Mumbai... #102NotOut features Amitabh as a 102-year-old and Rishi as his 75-year-old son... Based on Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play by the same name.”
