If all goes well, Alia Bhatt will be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in Aashiqui 3. Rumour has it that the Kapoor & Sons actress is the frontrunner in the list of contenders.
Sonam Kapoor was believed to be a hot favourite for the female lead, especially after she and Hrithik teamed up for the music video of Dheere Dheere Se last year. The reprise version of the hit number from Aashiqui became extremely popular on its release.
Kangana Ranaut too was in contention for the role – the top officials at T-Series, the banner under which the romantic film will be made, were especially keen on her.
However, Hrithik made it clear that he doesn’t want to share screen space with his ex-flame (Hrithik ousts ex-flame Kangana from Aashiqui 3, Jan 25).
Alia seems to have edged past both these actresses to bag the role. The other details of the film are currently being worked out.
