Priyanka Loses The 'Sexiest Asian Woman' Title To Deepika!

Deepika Padukone has toppled her arch-rival Priyanka Chopra to win the title of the 'Sexiest Asian Woman' in the 2016 UK poll conducted by a British weekly newspaper Eastern Eye.

Four times winner Priyanka  has been pushed down to No.2 and TV actress Nia Sharma takes the No.3 spot and reclaims her crown as the 'Sexiest Television Star'.

Last year, Priyanka came out trumps following millions of votes pouring in from across the globe on social media. Priyanka has won the 'Sexiest Asian Woman' title 4 times. This is the first time that Deepika has occupied the top spot. “Now that’s a title I’m happy to hold on to. I’m bringing sexy back! A big thank you to everyone who’s voted for me. Thank you also to ‘Eastern Eye’ for making me feel ‘sexy’; well, at least for another year. A piece of advice to the ladies– it’s all in the mind. Remember, sexy is as sexy does,” Chopra said in 2015. She had won the title for the second consecutive time then.

Says Deepika, "Well, it does bring a smile to my face but sexy means different things to different people. For me it's not just physical. For me being comfortable with who you are, is sexy! Confidence is sexy! Innocence and vulnerability is sexy."

Deepika had ended up No. 4 in the poll, last year. Katrina was on No. 5 and Kareena Kapoor was on No.7.

TV actress Drashti Dhami has slipped by one position to No.4 this year, courtesy Nia who has shot up two places. Other small screen actresses in the list include: Rubina Dilaik (11), Niti Taylor (12), Jennifer Winget (17), Krystle D’Souza (26), and newcomers Shivani Surve (29), Helly Shah (31) and Jasmin Bhasin (35).

53-year-old philanthropist Nita Ambani (32), is the first woman to ever be included as an Editor’s Choice in the 13-year history of the long running countdown.
