BEST DRESSED & WORST DRESSED AT Cannes Film Festival 2017: Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Or Sonam Kapoor?
Cannes Film Festival 2017 is over and our Bollywood beauties- Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan put in all they had to shine at the French Riviera. But who among them shined the brightest?
One of the most renowned film festivals of the year-
Cannes concluded yesterday. From Bollywood- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor
and Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet. The three divas walked on different
dates and made sure that their presence is felt.
Although in my opinion, none of them were outstanding
this year and they have done a much better job in their previous appearances at
Cannes. But if it’s about who kept the style-o-meter highest this year, then my
pick would be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & the most disappointing one being
Sonam Kapoor.
Sonam is a true diva when it comes to stepping up the
fashion game. She experiments & she carries the ‘out of the box’ look with
poise. In a recent interview, she stated that she can carry off a trash bag as
well! Hell yes, she can, I don’t doubt that. But at Cannes 2017, the only
drawback which left me disappointed was her choice of very average clothes.
Someone who just wants to watch a pretty girl walk the red carpet, will not
find any flaw in her outfits but ask me and I feel that they surely
didn't meet Sonam Kapoor’s standards.
For me Sonam Kapoor and fashion go hand in hand, she puts in a thought behind her wardrobe, she doesn’t take any appearance lightly and makes sure that extra effort is seen. But this year at Cannes 2017, the choice of gowns on both nights for the red carpet was so identical! Shimmery and shiney gowns with plunging necklines, even the colours belonged to the same family- gold and rose gold. Absolutely no depth in the selection.

Talking about her hair-do, it was only for her last appearance at Cannes that Sonam tried something different. She tied her hair for all her appearances from the day she arrived at Cannes. The diva did not experiment much with her make-up as well.
And now coming to her appearances through the day, none of them were stunning enough. She wore a Masaba, Anamika Khanna and Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla for three of her outdoor appearances and all 3 failed to impress.
Coming to her accessories, for her first day red carpet look, the earrings and hand harnesses were quite unflattering- too much bling added to an already shiny dress.
Second on the list is Deepika Padukone, who chose the safest path. None of her looks were over the top and she kept it very simple in solids. Out of all her looks- I only liked her first red carpet appearance where she wore a wine colour gown by Marchesa. Her second red carpet look was extremely blah.

Deepika just got lost in the crowd and I think she was pretty much content with that, as far as she doesn't make a fashion blunder.
And now coming to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan- well, she put the best fashion foot forward at Cannes this year among the 3 ladies. Her choice of gowns for the red carpet was grand, her outdoor looks could have been better but as compared to Sonam and Deepika, she fared well, but I prefer her last year appearances to this year. She was more experimental with her choices in 2016.

So, as Cannes 2017 comes to an end, I hope next year these divas put up a better show.
