Kavita Barjatya’s Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka To Go Off Air, Fans Start A Petition #SonySaveERSK

The show, Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka, which started four months back (August) on Sony Television, hasn’t been able to garner the required ratings and the makers have decided to pull it off air.

Kavita Barjatya, Sooraj Barjatya’s cousin, launched the show under her independent banner Kavita Barjatya Productions. It is a family drama which stars Kinshuk Vaidya and Shivya Pathania in the lead roles. The show which is based on the concept of a joint family had a grand launch in August and Kavita had then said, “Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka will show the positive side of living in a joint family and how with elders’ intervention will help a newly married young couple bond better.”

Kinshuk, who plays the lead character Aryan, confirmed the news and told a section of the media, "Yes, the show is going off air. If everything goes as planned, the last episode will be telecast on January 20, 2017. We do not know the reason though."

But as soon as this news broke out; fan clubs started a new petition on social media: #SonySaveERSK where in the fans are requesting audience to watch the show only on Sony at 8.30 pm to help increase the TRPs.

In fact, Sunayana Fozdar, who plays the role of Priyanka Sethia, the elder daughter-in-law, too shared the petition with this note,

“one of my most dear shows #ersk thank you all for the phenomenal feedback n support....I always believe we all are whatever we are bcoz of url #godbless #loveourwellwishers and hoping to win hearts of all the others non erskians too. Love them more #erskfamily forever”

While this has been the concept of the show, the makers had created a month-long Marwari wedding sequence, which followed all the rituals. But sadly, the show lost its way and the entire household on many occasions found fault in the bahu of the family. Did the show lose its charm there?
