TV Actress Deepika Singh SLAPPED by Diya Aur Baati Hum Producers...
... With a fine of Rs 16 lakh, Shashi and Sumeet refuse to pay Deepika her outstanding dues of Rs 1.14 crore
Life can be cruel, and sufferings tend to have a multiplicative factor. That's exactly what is happening with the 27-year old TV actress Deepika Singh.
SpotboyE.com has it that the Diya Aur Baati Hum producers Shashi and Sumeet are showing no signs of paying their concluded show's leading lady Deepika (who played Sandhya Raithi) her outstanding dues of Rs 1.14 crore (90 lakh her acting fee + 24 lakh interest)--- but instead have demanded her to pay Rs 16 lakh to them.
SpotboyE.com was the first to break the story of Deepika having been not paid her dues of Rs 1.14 crore (Deepika Singh Not Been Paid Rs 1.14 Crore; Refuses To Play Kapil Sharma's Wife!, Nov 27).
A bill of Rs 1.14 crore had been sent to the producers by Deepika. Shashi and Summet wanted Deepika to take only Rs 67 lakh instead. In fact, this was what even their company's associate producer Sheetal Somani had confirmed with us then: "Look, let me tell you exactly. We want to deduct (READ THE WORD DEDUCT, SHE DIDN'T SAY DEMAND) Rs 16 lakh as far as Deepika is concerned because she was reporting late on our sets. I think she has taken the matter to CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) already and we shall take legal recourse."
But now, in a sudden turnaround, Shashi & Sumeet have sent a DEBIT NOTE of Rs 16 lakh to Deepika. This tantamounts to she having given them losses of Rs 130 lakh! Due to her latecomings?

A source close to the development tells SpotboyE.com, "Yes, Deepika did come late on the sets sometimes, but that's because the show's leading man Annas Rashid often turned up 6 hours late. For a 10 pm call time, Anas reported at 4 pm. What should Deepika do on the sets when the other guy (Anas) in her scenes is not around?
On other occasions, Deepika would be cooling her heels and not a single shot could be picturised because things were in sheer disarray. There was even a day when Deepika went back home without shooting a single scene."
Deepika is currently in a tizzy.
Yes, she has taken the matter to CINTAA as Somani seems to know everything that is happening in Deepika's life- but not everything that is happening in her company Shashi & Sumeet Productions.
Repeated attempts to talk to her failed as she claimed to us in a text message that "she is out", and then when we gave her the details on what had transpired, she replied saying, not once but twice: "I have no idea."
When contacted, IFTPC (Indian Film and Television Producers Council) Chairman J D Majethia said, "Yes, Deepika is in a dispute with Shashi & Sumeet. But I cannot elaborate on that, since the matter has not been resolved. We shall get into the details and look into the matter soon."

For those who've come in late, Deepika, who recently completed her show Diya Aur Baati Hum (on Star Plus), was repeatedly getting late payments; at times the cheques came to her after a delay of 7 months! What a shocker, considering the fact that Deepika was supposed to be paid on monthly basis.
Shashi and Sumeet wanted the actors to finish off their outstanding amounts (the show went off air on September 10 this year) by accepting a lump-sum amount. Deepika was not ready for any such settlement.
Deepika was even hospitalised for 2 days when she happened to swallow ink during a particular shoot in Diya Aur Baati Hum, and she has slogged for 12-15 hours a day on her shifts.
Besides, a lot of sh** was being spoken on the sets when she fell in love with the show's director Rohit Raj Goyal, who then therefore decided to move out of the show. It was being said that he was being partial to Deepika, but that was a fallacy as Deepika was the protagonist who was anyway required for most scenes in the show.
We now also have it that somebody from the unit of Diya Aur Baati Hum had linked her up with Annas during the shoot sometime ago, and she was very upset about it.

Adds the source, "A lot of negative energy was flowing on the sets during the last stages of Diya Aur Baati Hum. Deepika had even confided a few personal things with few people, who strangely turned around to pull the carpet under her feet. This really shook her up, but yet she continued to work diligently. Deepika is a very popular actress on Indian television. She has twice won win a Star Parivaar Award for her portrayal in Diya Aur Baati Hum- in 2012 and 2013. She has done her post graduation in Business Administration with Marketing as her Special Subject from Punjab Technical University. Recently, she did a short web series called Real Soulmate, directed by her husband.
