This week two
films hit theatres- Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree and
Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.
Box-office collections of both films on Day 1 are here. Stree enjoyed a
positive opening but unfortunately YPD Phir Se had a disappointing Friday.
Talking about YPD
Phir Se, well, the first instalment had worked, second failed, and probably
Deols thought they would be third time lucky with the 3rd sequel.
Unfortunately, third was worse and managed to collect Rs 1.50-1.75 cr on Day
1.
We also at
SpotboyE.com thought the film was amateurishly made. In fact, SpotboyE editor,
Vickey Lalwani also questioned, ‘why are Deols doing this to them?’ He also
added, "The
background score is noisy. The choreography is tacky. The outfits are from
God-knows which year! The dialogues are all forgettable. The direction is
amateurish. And guess what's the message (if at all anybody deciphered)? That,
the traditional Ayurveda medicines are superior to Allopathy. Phew! Itna
outdated? YPD 3 seems to have been made to resurrect Bobby's career; he is
in the thick of everything. Whatever, it's difficult to for me write
anymore. Let me go."

Shraddha Kapoor And Rajkummar Rao In The Movie Stree
On the other
hand, Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree has taken off to a
promising start as the film has made Rs 6.82 crore. While Shraddha has surely
disappointed us with her acting chops even though she had the title role, it is
very clear a large chunk of this opening can be attributed to Rajkummar's
histrionics.

Editor in his review wrote, "Watch this film for Rao's histrionics, this
man can give 4 expressions in one shot- comical, scared, romantic and dominant.
That's exactly what Shraddha makes him do in the end to defeat the Stree.” So,
let's see, how Stree goes on day 2 but one thing is for sure, Yamla Pagla
Deewana Phir Se faces an uphill task.
