Yesterday, Team PM Narendra Modi biopic were shocked to know that YouTube has taken down the trailer, dialogue promos and songs of the films. The biopic, earlier scheduled to release on April 5, could not hit screens due to delay in censor certificate. However, it finally received on April 10 and was all set to release on April 11. But then came the EC orders of stalling the release and delaying it till Lok Sabha elections end.

Post which, producer Sandip Ssingh moved Supreme Court, again, which directed EC to watch the film and then take a decision on delaying the release and asked them to submit its view to the court by April 22.

Now, yesterday, the trailer of the film along with other promotional videos went missing on YouTube. The move was noticed after SC’s decision on April 15 to delay the release of the film. While speaking to Mumbai Mirror about the missing trailer, producer Sandip said, “It’s been a surprise film (in terms of setbacks) for me. I’ve made many films but never faced so many difficulties. The tough part is usually shooting a project but the troubles in the case of PM Narendra Modi, it began with the promotions. Something new happens every day. It is an additional stress for me and my team. We will approach the EC again and request them to allow us to reinstate promotional material.”

The filmmaker further told that the losses of two shifts in release date are piling up. He said, “My digital partners are ready to back out. I hope that every leader of the Opposition, be it the Congress, DMK or MNS, quickly realises that we are not a part of the Bhartiya Janata Party and the Modi biopic is not a propaganda film. Let me say one last time, PM Narendra Modi is not funded by the BJP.”

The producer further revealed that his last hopes are now pinned on the EC screening, he concluded, “I’m hoping the EC is inspired by the story and allows us to release it. Meanwhile, I request every government body and all the courts of the land to not mix cinema and politics. Let films survive for the people.”
