On Friday 25 June, the makers of tentatively titled D43 starring Dhanush announced that the shoot for the final schedule of the film which also features actress Malvika Mohanan to resume from July. Sharing the news on social media the team released a poster of Dhanush from the sets. They tweeted, "The Final schedule of @dhanushkraja's #D43 shoot resumes from July 2021 @karthicknaren_M @MalavikaM_"
The film directed by Karthick Naren had gone on floors on 7 January 2021 with a customary puja. The untitled project is bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films and the script is penned by Sharfu and Suhas. It also features Smruthi Venkat of Mookuthi Amman fame. And GV Prakash Kumar will be scoring the music.

Earlier in an interview, the director had revealed that the Maari actor will be playing an investigative journalist in the movie. The filmmaker also said that D43 is a complete commercial thriller, which mainly depicts the role a journalist plays in society. Dhanush and the D43 team had wrapped up the first schedule of the Karthick Naren directorial by the beginning of February 2021. The actor recently returned after shooting for his Hollywood film The Gray Man in the US. His must-awaited film Jagame Thandhiram had a worldwide release on Netflix on 18 June. Apart from D43, Dhanush also has Karnan up for release, and on the other hand, the actor is expected to start shooting for the Selvaraghavan film Naane Varuven in August.
