As reported
earlier, the legless, wheelchair-bound dancer Vinod Thakur of Nach Baliye
Season 6 and India's Got Talent fame collapsed near Malad enroute to the
Gateway of India, in the wee hours of Sunday morning. He was rushed to the Raksha Hospital at Malad and
admitted to the ICU in a serious condition.
We now hear,
Thakur's condition has deteriorated. He has suffered a heart attack
(mild) and has been put on a ventilator.
Vinod Thakur
Thakur
started his journey on his wheelchair on March 18 from the India Gate at Delhi covering
almost 1500 km on wheelchair in a span of 40 days. He was originally
scheduled to reach the Gateway of India in Mumbai on April 30.
Vinod Thakur
He was suffering from severe dehydration, low BP, irregular heartbeat and few other medical issues when admitted. The plight that he finds himself in, is clearly due to the strain associated with the long journey.
Thakur is a dancer, performer and stunt master and also plays wheelchair cricket. He was attempting a Guinness World Record in association with the Nevada Putnan Foundation of Mumbai for the longest wheelchair journey.
We wish Thakur a speedy recovery.
