HIT OR FLOP: Naagin 3, Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, Indian Idol 10, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai?

Week 52 (December 22-28) turned out to be disappointing for a number of shows. We bet, makers are fast making plans to get out of the tricky situation

Here’s the first shocker of Week 52 (December 22-28). Naagin 3 has been displaced, yet again. This time by Indian Idol 10 grand finale, which aired on December 23. The competition was won by Salman Ali and evidently, audience tuned in, in large numbers. Reality shows always have a way with TV buffs. Don’t they? Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 3 clinched the second position. While this may be temporary but the producer has received a setback of sorts in this week.

However, what is undoubtedly a cause of worry is Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 starring Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes. Just when it seemed like the show might have finally found acceptance, it has plummeted to No.13. No denying, it’s time for the creative team to come up with plans to rescue the fast-declining drama.

Ekta’s Kundali Bhagya too slipped marginally and acquired the 3rd position. The producer’s other flagship show, Kumkum Bhagya managed to retain its position – No.5

This is not the end of disappointments. Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, which had been performing rather well in the past few weeks, dropped drastically. The show went from No. 4 to 10 -- a decline which shouldn’t go unnoticed or taken lightly. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stumbled and so did Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. The world of Indian television is fickle, it will be interesting to see how the shows fare in the coming week. Stay tuned!
