The shooting of Srijit Mukherji’s Dwitiyo Purush will start from October. The film will see Parambrata Chatterjee reprise the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen will be essaying her character of Amrita. The film is slated to release next year.
The shooting announcement was not made on any social media platforms but the news is based on the reports. Earlier in the month, the national award-winning director had shared the poster of the movie on his Twitter handle.
Taking it to the Twitter handle, Srijit had tweeted, “Time for a re-union... #DwitiyoPurush.”
Dwitiyo Purush will be a sequel to his 2011hit film ‘Baishe Srabon’, which starred Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Abir Chatterjee and director Gautam Ghosh.
According to reports, the story of Dwitiyo Purush will start from where Baishe Srabon had left off. The film will see Parambrata Chatterjee reprise the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen will be essaying her character of Amrita.
Baishe Srabon story revolved two journalists and two police officers (one suspended) chasing a vengeful Kolkata psychopath, who leaves behind couplets from Bengali poems. Baishe Srabon received positive reviews from critics, and was one of the highest-grossing Bengali films of 2011. The film received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification for adult language.
Meanwhile, there are rumours going on that Srijit will soon tie knot with his girlfriend Rafiath Rashid Mithila. He has recently released teaser and official poster of his controversial film ‘Gumnaami’. The film is based on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
