Srijit Mukherji’s Ek Je Chillo Raja has received another laurel. The film is now an official selection at the International Film Festival held in Goa this year. The film festival has started and the director has shared the picture of same on his social media account.

Srijit Mukherji even congratulated whole team for the success. “The Golden Jubilee year of the biggest international film festival of India - IFFI, Goa. #EkJeChhiloRaja selection under Indian Panorama. Congratulations to the team!”, he tweeted.


The movie stars Jisshu Sengupta in the titular role of Maharaja Mahendra Kumar Chowdhury as well as the Bhawal sanyasi. The film also stars Jaya Ahsan, Aparna Sen, Anirban Bhattacharya, Anjan Dutt, Rudranil Ghosh, and Sreenanda Shankar. The movie was released in 2018.

The movie is all about Mahendra Kumar Choudhuri, the prince of the Bhawal Estate, is taken to Darjeeling for treatment by his relatives where he dies. Years later, a sanyasi shows up claiming to be the lost prince. And how he struggles to prove his identity?

Ek Je Chhilo Raja has bagged the prestigious National Film Award for Best Bengali Regional Film this year. The film received thumbs up from critics as well as fans. The film had done fabulous business everywhere.

Srijit Mukherji has even started shooting of his next thriller film Dwitiyo Purush starring Parambarta Chatterjee and Raima Sen in the lead role. The film is expected to release in 2020.
