This is not the first time that  Pratim D Gupta has made detective thriller.  Pratim’s earlier hits Saheb Bibi Golaam and Machher Jhol was also released in August.

Machher Jhol had done well on the box office and received a good response from the audience. It is considered one of the best films of Paoli Dam in her career. The film travels beyond food to highlight the complex nature of modern relationships. It focuses on ambitions which often faces wrath from old school thoughts and traditions. Ritwick essays his role of a Paris-based chef with consummate ease, shifting gear from being a popular chef, to a responsible child of his mother and lastly a puzzled son while facing his father.
