Veteran Actor Soumitra Chatterjee Hospitalised Due To Breathing Problem
Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee has been hospitalised to a private hospital after he complained of breathing problems. 84-year-old Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital around 9.30 am.

According to PTI, a hospital statement said that he is suffering from respiratory tract infection and is out of danger.  
The actor has been featured in 14 films by Satyajit Ray and had been conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The actor has appeared in over 250 films and is also a recipient of Legion of Honour from the French government.

The actor''s daughter Poulami Basu told PTI that his condition is stable. "There is no threat to his life," she said.
Soumitra Chatterjee has acted in Apur Sansar. He also featured in a number of films by Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha and modern day directors.  Soumitra Chatterjee is also a poet, non-fiction writer, theatre personality, editor of a popular literary magazine and elocutionist.


In Debotar Grash, Naseeruddin Shah and Soumitra Chatterjee will be sharing space. Talking about the film, she said that it was a learning experience. The film revolves around a girl named Amrita. She is a friend of a primary school science teacher, who faces a legal charge related to religion. The legal notice was sent by the father of his friend, played by Amrita. The film is based on Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee's play, Inherit The Wind.
