Ekta-Jeetendra-Shobha Did Not Know That Tusshar Kapoor Had Decided To Have A Child Via Surrogacy!
In his most definitive interview ever, Tusshar Kapoor reveals everything about son Laksshya. SpotboyE.com caught up with him at his Krishna bungalow in Juhu on Saturday. Over hot cups of tea, the Golmaal star, who was in a very candid mood, held nothing back at all.

How did you think of having a baby via surrogacy? Surely, it was not a decision made in one day...
Definitely not. Frankly, I thought about it for quite some time. One day, Prakash Jha (film producer) and I missed our flight to Chennai. We decided to car-pool and believe it or not, everything just fell into place in that long drive.

Go on...
I happened to tell Prakash Jha about my desire to have a baby via surrogacy. He heard me out and told me that I should go ahead; he said that he knew of a couple of families who had done the same. In a flash, he made me speak to one such family from South Mumbai on the phone. That phone call strengthened my thoughts.

And then?
I came back and met that SoBo family I went and completed the procedure and the formalities. First the IVF was done, it was successful. Then the surrogacy was done, and it was successful. Mind you, I hadn't told a soul that I am going ahead with this, not even my parents and sister.

Are you serious?
Yes, I am serious.

So, who did you tell first eventually?
I first broke the news to my mom.

After going through the formalities and the procedure, did you know that you couldn't have backed out?
Even if my parents hadn't agreed, I would have still gone ahead and had the baby in the same way.

Did you know the exact date when the baby was going to be born?
Yes, I was informed that the baby would be born on the night of June 1. Earlier they had given me a range in date, later I was told the
exact date. Yes, I knew that he was coming into this world on June 1.

Did you rush to the hospital on June 1?
No, else it might have led to chaos at the hospital. And I surely didn't want that. The cloak of secrecy had to be maintained.

Did you meet the surrogate mother?
There's a rule that you cannot.

Describe the moment when the baby reached you...
It was 6 am in the morning when the doctor arrived with the baby to my house. We four- my dad (Jeetendra), mom (Shobha) and sister (Ekta) couldn't sleep a wink the night before. It was the night of June 1, 2016. We had been informed that I have been blessed with a son.

Who picked up the baby first?
Myself (smiles).

And then?
My parents came down in 5 minutes, and then my life changed completely.

Do you shop for clothes for Laksshya?
Yes, in fact I did all his shopping before he was born. I did it from the US.

Of course, I get him toys. But I don't want to flood him with toys. Else he might become habituated and need a new toy almost every other day for stimulation.

Does he wake you up in the night?
No. He goes to sleep around 7.30 pm. After that he wakes up only once for his feed.

He sleeps with you?
No, we have a nursery for him. There's a nurse with him all the time. I go away from the nursery into my room only after Laksshya is fast asleep. I have fixed a camera in my room which helps me to monitor the nursery.
And of course, there are nights when I don't sleep a wink when he is unwell. Waise, I am lucky that I have a lot of help. As and when I go to work, my mom and dad are around to take care of him.

Golmaal 4?
Yes, it's round the corner. And I have enjoyed shooting every bit of it.

New offers?
I am not taking up much. Firstly, Golmaal is a very prestigious franchise and every time, it has given a lot to me. So let me focus entirely on Golmaal 4 for some time. Secondly, I am quite busy in parenting Laksshya. And then, I am also helping my mom in Balaji's financial matters and dad in his construction business.
