Neliima Azeem Shares Shahid-Ishaan's Reaction After Seeing Her In Mom And Co., Says, “They Are Happy That I Am Working Again"

We got in touch with veteran actress Neliima Azeem on Friday in Khar. The actress who is set to enter the digital space with her debut web show Mom & Co., spoke to us about the show, her character Suhasini Rao and also spoke of how “encouraging” her kids- Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter have been.
We started the conversation by asking her how different it was for her to shoot for a web series. Said Neliima, “The world is different. A shoot is smaller and tighter. The stories are interesting and simpler. In that sense it’s different, but, I think, for an actor it’s more or less the same thing, just to be able to portray your role, and how it’s realistic.”

When asked about her character Suhasini Rao, in Mom And Co., Azeem said, “She is a very naive, innocent, and sincere character. Her rise to fame in life is very interesting because she’s a simple homemaker and she has a little world of her own with her son. Life throws a challenge at her as she’s a single mother. What makes it very interesting, is the graph that they (makers) have given to this character, as it is extremely inspiring.”
Not only this, the actress even told us that she gave an instant nod to the makers to play the role of Suhasini Rao. Further, we asked her if she discussed about her debut web show with her sons- Shahid and Ishaan and how they reacted to it. She said, “Just like always, they have always been encouraging. They are happy that I am working again. They don’t know too much about this and I wanted it to be a surprise. We usually don’t go sitting and telling all the stories of all the projects that we are doing. Unless and until they need to probe or ask or take some suggestions, but they don’t know the details of this. Now that the synopsis is out, they have an idea of what it is. They kind of felt that it was right for me. They are pretty happy.”
When we further prodded her to speak up on how her family reacted after watching her in the trailer of Mom & Co., the actress clearly said, “It’s too personal.” However, she added, “It’s all happy stuff. They are happy to watch me on screen again.” And that’s not all, as Neliima has suggestions to give to all the single parents out there and she also provides reasons to watch her first ever web show, Mom & Co.
