So, when we got chatty with the actor and the filmmaker Navdeep Singh, the duo was very candid in their responses as they spoke about the film, the changing taste of audience in cinema, cricket and much more. We of course began the conversation by asking Saif about what went into the making of his role of a Naga Sadhu and how difficult or easy was it. Said Saif, “I got so scared because it looked okay but it took around 2 hours on the first day, but it became faster after a while. It's a great character. Our history has got some amazing characters." Praising the director, he added, "It's so cool of Navdeep to have found something in our own culture.” Next, he addressed comparisons with Jack Sparrow. We asked the director that the film was earlier titled Hunter to which he replied that it was just a working title. While Saif is pretty excited about this film, we recalled on few of his recent films like Chef and Kaalakaandi that didn’t fare well at the ticket windows and the actor even spoke about what could’ve led to the failure of those films. With content-driven cinema ruling the roost these days, we asked if they feel that the star value has declined. Saif replied, "The script and film is the star now. Actors are very interchangeable in that sense."

The topic veered towards his father’s biopic. We asked if it’s still on the cards and Saif without giving away any details quickly stated that he is looking forward to see how Kabir Khan’s ‘83 fares. When we talk about cricket, we obviously want to know his views on the Indian cricket team and he is all praises for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He even has words of praises for the team.

Finally, we concluded the interview by asking Navdeep as to what made him finalise Saif for this role and he replied, "It is the attitude that Saif possesses; there are very few Indian actors who really possess that level of charisma. He has that combination of being able to be slightly wicked and entirely lovable. And that's the kind of thing I really wanted for this character.” On that note, the interview came to a close.
