Vinta Nanda’s horrifying account of being raped by ‘Sanskaari’ babuji Alok Nath has rattled the nation. The writer-producer took to Facebook to share the incident in detail and since then, has been receiving immense support from netizens and Bollywood folk alike.
The long post starts off by stating -- his wife was my best friend. She also happens to mention in the same post that when she went to party at Alok Nath’s house, her best friend was out of town. With the writer-producer accusing the senior actor of a heinous crime, a question that comes to mind is – didn’t she tell Alok Nath’s wife, Ashu Singh, about the incident considering they were best friends? SpotboyE.com asked Vinta the relevant question when we met her this morning. She said, “She was not at home on the day the party happened, she had gone away for a long period. I told his wife exactly what he had done once she came back and a third friend was also listening to the narrative but Ashu just heard me out and said nothing.” When we exclaimed surprise, she shrugged her shoulders and further said, “Well all that she added was I have heard something different.”
In her Facebook post, Vinta has also urged other women, who have suffered at the hands of other predators to come out and say it aloud. She wrote, “I have waited for this moment to come for 19 years. I shout out to each one of you who have suffered at the hands of predators to come out and say it aloud. Don’t hold yourselves back. This is a moment for change so your silence will only hold barriers to its evolution. Speak out. Shout out from the top of the roof. My friend Nutan who is no more took me to the back road of #LokhandwalaComplex in #Andheri where she made me break a 100 empty bottles and I threw them into the mangroves and shouted out all my anger and frustration. I never looked back after that day.”
