Saat Uchakkey – Film Review : Uchakkon Ki Gaali Galoch Waali Film!
The film begins with the crazy hypnotist Annu Kapoor and then jumps to 7 uchakkeys who live in Old Delhi. They are harmless but to make a better living they take up fraudulent practices in the cutest way.
The film begins
with the crazy hypnotist Annu Kapoor and then jumps to 7 uchakkeys who live in
Old Delhi. They are harmless but to make a better living they take up
fraudulent practices in the cutest way.
Some hints, omens
and signs make Manoj Bajpayee believe that there is buried treasure in Anupam
Kher's haveli and he along with Vijay Raaz and 5 other uchakkeys put their
differences aside and get together to hatch a plan.
The plan was to
get in the haveli and dig out the ‘khazaana’.In the process, of course,
lovelorn cop Kay Kay Menon had to be handled first... and that's why Manoj
Bajpayee begins the charade of his own death.
What follows is a
desi style treasure hunt. Surprisingly, they end up striking a real fortune;
Golden idols, gold coins and all kinds of precious stones; But then the crazy
hypnotist Annu Kapoor comes back and a magic element is also added to the film.
He makes the 7 uchakkeys realise that what they desire is not the material
wealth but a better vision and understanding of life.
The film has performers
like Manoj Bajpayee, Kay Kay Menon and Vijay Raaz, who like always impressed
with their performances. Aditi Sharma also needs a special mention. But
still at some level I believe the film was a waste of talent.
Because –
The film overall
lacked lustre and couldn't involve the audiences. Second half dragged a lot and
became preachy towards the end. Since, the film had put forth the real ambience
and characters of sadak-chaap Delhi, it relied heavily on foul language but
then towards the end it became repetitive and dull. Also, the film had
misplaced songs except for the last one that made some sense.
SpotboyE.com's
biggest film buff Sangya Lakhanpal took to the theatre to review the film and gave
it 2 stars.
