UGLY Has Solid Trending On Weekdays But On Low Levels
Anurag Kashyap delivered some critical acclaim films in past but his last few films failed to get either acclaim or business. ''The Girl In Yellow Boots'' was disappointment and now his next film ''Ugly'' released yesterday which was waiting for release for quite sometime.
Film started with poor occupancy of 5-10% in morning but with 440 screens and good word of mouth film improved during the day. Film registered 40% occupancy at some multiplexes though overall scenario did not change much.
Film collected 90 lakhs on day one which was bad though it can not be termed as good either. Film was flat on day two and with slim growth film collected 1.20 cr nett. Film added 1.45 cr nett on day three taking weekend total to 3.55 cr nett over weekend.
But film trended very well on weekdays on lower levels and film has collected close to 6 cr nett in week one. Film should score good numbers in 2nd week considering there is no major release. Film has chances to touch 9 cr nett lifetime number and that is still bad but better than expected.
