As Coronavirus breaks loose in the world, many malls, theatres, auditoriums, etc. are getting shut down. Not only that, but several Bollywood, as well as Hollywood movies like Sooryavanshi and No Time To Die, have also been pushed further. Reportedly, even Kabir Khan's '83 will get postponed due to Covid-19 crisis. Indian Cricket T20 tournament IPL - Indian Premier League, Jonas Brothers' Las Vegas Music gig, UEFA champion leagues have been postponed as the deadly virus is hovering over the world. We have reported that the owners of Zee Cine Awards 2020 have also cancelled the public event. With so much going on, the film which released amid coronavirus is facing a loss at the box office.
Recently, CM Uddhav Thackeray announced a shutdown on public places including theatres and with that it looks like Angrezi Medium which was released on March 13 has run into trouble, blame it on coronavirus. While the film managed to have a decent opening of Rs 4.03 crore on its first day, the film saw a drop on its second day as Angrezi Medium collected Rs. 2.75 crore at the box-office. Considering it is Irrfan Khan's comeback and the good reviews it received from the critics, the numbers are really low. However, there is no need to worry as the director of Angrezi Medium Homi Adajania took to his Instagram story to announce that Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan starrer will be re-released in India as the theatres are shut down due to the Coronavirus Outbreak.
While sharing this news, he wrote, "At midnight all theatres will close across India till the authorities give us further notice. We will re-release Angrezi Medium when it is safe to do so. Till then stay safe and be kind to each other." Check out the post here: As the makers have decided to make a re-release, we hope the film will rake in with better numbers at the domestic markets as Angrezi Medium has received good response from the critics as well as those viewers who watched the film.
Meanwhile, Angrezi Medium also stars, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Kiku Sharda, Deepak Dobriyal and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles.
