against the age-old tradition of open defecation in the country, is on a roll.
After an amazing opening of Rs 13.10 crore on Day 1,
the film has raked in Rs 17.10 crore on Day 2.

Trade analyst took to Twitter to share the Day 2 figures of the project. He wrote,#ToiletEkPremKatha Fri 13.10 cr, Sat 17.10 cr. Total: ₹ 30.20 cr. India biz... ₹ 48 cr [+/-] weekend on the cards... SUPERB... #TEPK (sic).”
He also opined that strong word-of-mouth has resulted in the massive numbers. “#ToiletEkPremKatha witnessed FANTASTIC growth on Sat... Strong word of mouth is translating into MASSIVE numbers... #TEPK,” he further wrote.
Looking at the
second day collection and it being a long weekend (Tomorrow-Janmashthami
& Tuesday-Independence Day), the film is expected to only grow in the

Meanwhile, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has been grabbing eyeballs ever since the trailer of the film dropped. Owing to its subject, it has been applauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
Furthermore, SpotboyE.com broke the news that Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has pocketed a superb deal of Rs 53 crore (all India distribution rights). The film has been sold to Viacom for the said amount.
This figure of Rs 53 crore is an all-time high for Akshay Kumar. The superstar’s Rustom was sold for Rs 42 crore.
