Box-Office, Day 2: Sushant Singh Rajput & Kriti Sanon’s Raabta DROPS, Collects A Mere Rs 5.11 Crore

Raabta featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon witnessed a fall in its collections. The film went from Rs 5.61 crore on Day 1 to Rs 5.11 crore on Day 2. The total collections of the film stand at Rs 10.72 crore

Things are going from bad to worse for Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon-starrer Raabta. The film, which got off to a poor start and pocketed Rs 5.61 crore on Day 1 has dropped and collected Rs 5.11 crore on Day 1.

Trade analyst took to Twitter to share the box-office collections. He wrote, “#Raabta Fri 5.61 cr, Sat 5.11 cr. Total: ₹ 10.72 cr. India biz (sic).”


Considering Raabta was promoted extensively and had a decent lead pair, a lot more was expected from it.

Also, with Sushant and Kriti's real life romance giving it the required thrust from time to time, the project should have managed to get a better footfall on the first two days. Sadly, that didn't happen.

From the looks of it, it’s a rough road ahead. The word-of-mouth for the film isn't great. Critics have slammed the film as well. Theatre owners are of the opinion that the film will have a tough time picking it up in the coming days.

We spoke to Gaurav, Chief Spokesperson of Carnival Cinemas, on Friday and he said, "New releases are not good at all. Bad word-of-mouth is causing collections at ticket windows to dip. Not expecting a great box-office collection."

Trade Expert Taran Adarsh also expressed his views when we spoke to him on Friday, end of the day. He summed up his review in one line and said, "The weather outside is hot, but the theatres are completely thanda."

Let’s wait and watch to see if Raabta can at least recover its cost. The chances are bleak.
