Talking to SpotboyE.com, trade analyst Amod Mehra says, "This is perhaps the first time that a non-star film has garnered such a response. It is no doubt a costly film, but a sure-shot success."
Added Mehra, "Neeraj Pandey is the star of the film. What a superb film he has made."
Leading distributor Ramesh Sippy had predicted a minimum of Rs 50 crore weekend to SpotboyE.com. Ditto for trade analyst Komal Nahata (Whoa! 50 cr weekend Expected for M S Dhoni Biopic, Sep 29).
Manoj Desai, Executive Director of Gaiety-Galaxy-Maratha Mandir, says, "I am not in Mumbai but I am told by my theatres that there is an overwhelming response at the ticket windows."
"M S Dhoni: The Untold Story has collected in 1 day what the Emraan Hashmi starrer Azhar could not collect in its entire run," Mehra concluded.
