FIRST DAY COLLECTION: Aamir Khan Ends The Lull Phase At The Box-Office; Dangal Registers A Whopping 29.78 Cr!

Aamir Khan’s Dangal has stirred a Dangal at the box-office already. It has got a fabulous start at the ticket window. The biographical sports drama starring Aamir Khan and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is being loved by the audience in India as well as overseas.

In India, the film has made a whopping collection of 29.78 cr on its opening day. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about its first day collection few minutes back:

Not just in India, Dangal has performed well overseas also. Registering a total of around 7 cr, Taran Adarsh has shared collections from the US, Australia and New Zealand:

It took Aamir Khan two years to bring his magnum opus to the big screen. Aamir is back to the theatres after PK which released in 2014. And it looks like the wait was worth it. Dangal is touted to be Bollywood’s one of the most powerful films on hope and glory in year. While it was a unanimous thumbs up for Aamir's acting prowess, there were those who said that credit has to go to the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, which brought out the best in Aamir.

The four debutants, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Hasim and Suhani Bhatnagar, too have got rave reviews. Given that Dangal has got great reviews from both the critics and the moviegoers, it looks like Aamir Khan is on his way to a box-office record. The fact that it's going to have a good three weeks before the next big release (OK Jaanu, January 13) hits the screens, will definitely help.
