Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dear Zindagi escapes the ill-effects of the demonetization bug and registers a strong start at the box-office. As posted by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has recorded a figure if Rs 8.75 cr
#DearZindagi has a STRONG start... Hi-end plexes of major centres contribute maximum... Fri ₹ 8.75 cr [1200 screens]. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) November 26, 2016
While he also tweeted about the film's mid-week release figures across the seas:
#DearZindagi, which had a midweek release in North America [USA + Canada], has grossed $ 419,208 [₹ 2.87 cr] in 2 days... Details follow...— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) November 25, 2016
The film has been getting some really good response from the public and the critics as well. However, prior to the release the makers and the people from the industry were unsure how will the film be received at the box office considering the last two weeks have been doomed with Tum Bin 2, and Rock On 2. But with these figures, looks like the jinx has been broken.
Dear Zindagi has been directed by Gauri Shinde, who has directed English Vinglish starring Sridevi. Alia Bhatt’s role as Kyra is being appreciated a lot and Shah Rukh Khan who plays a life coach (Dr Jehangir Khan) also stands out in the film.
This is Alia’s third release of the year after Kapoor & Sons and Udta Punjab. She won a lot of accolades for Udta Punjab as well. Surely 2016 has treated Alia Bhatt with lot of fame and appreciation.
Shah Rukh Khan on the other hand has played a life coach for the first time. People are loving Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s chemistry as well.
Besides Alia and SRK, the film also stars Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Angad Bedi and Ali Zafar.
