FIRST DAY COLLECTION: Badrinath Ki Dulhania Gets An Impressive Start, Makes Rs. 12.25 Cr On Day 1

Badrinath Ki Dulhania has set the cash registers ringing. The film starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt has started off to good numbers. Taran Adarsh had predicted a good opening for the Shashank Khaitan film and his predictions have turned out to be true.

Before the release of the film, Trade expert Taran Adarsh had said, "The film is looking very good. The fact about it having being released during Holi won't affect if the film is good. There have been instances when films have released during IPL, during heavy rains, during important cricket matches - but they have turned out to do well at the box-office. "

Alia and Varun’s last film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania from the same franchise also performed decently well at the box-office. It received critical acclaim as well. The music of the film was a super hit too. Badrinath Ki Dulhania has also received good response in terms of its music. The album has the recreation of the famous track from the ‘90s- Tamma Tamma Loge, which was filmed on Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.

So, over all Badrinath Ki Dulhania seems to be heading for a decent weekend opening, and might grow on word-of-mouth too over the coming week. However, it may have a slight hit on its collections because of exam time and also because of the theatres being shut in the first half of Monday.
