Jagga Jasoos had a decent opening with a collection of Rs 8.57 crore on Day 1. The morning and afternoon shows only got 50-55% occupancy in the suburban theatres but the word-of-mouth was strong for the Ranbir Kapoor – Katrina Kaif starrer.
Then, the film set the cash registers ringing on Day 2. According to film analyst, Taran Adarsh, Jagga Jasoos had a superb growth of 25-30% on Saturday all over India. He took to Twitter to share the figures of the film, Taran wrote: “#JaggaJasoos Fri 8.57 cr, Sat 11.53 cr. Total: ₹ 20.10 cr. India biz.”

The film did not impress the critics much with SpotboyE.com’s Khalid Mohamed writing: “Awfully self-indulgent, the writer-director seems to be wasting limitless resources, hare-brained ideas and conceits to zero-effect.”
Trade Analyst Komal Nahata too had slammed the film. He had said, "I didn't like the film at all." Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir owner Manoj Desai said that Jagga Jasoos had opened well at his properties.
"The opening at my theatres has been 90% around, which is a good nu mber. I was expecting a full house, but that didn't happen. The film is picking up on word-of-mouth with each passing show. By Monday it will get clear whether or not it will be a hit," said Desai. Juhu PVR Owner, Ravi Sibal was optimistic about the Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer. "The collection for the morning and afternoon shows has been average."
But it looks like Jagga Jasoos will be propelled further over Sunday. The film was shot on a large scale and was made on the budget of Rs 110 crore.
