This Independence Day saw the release of two movies- Akshay Kumar’s multistarrer Mission Mangal and John Abraham starrer Batla House. The two films were to battle it out at the box- office, and inspite of it, they have both fared well individually. Mission Mangal, also starring Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi, crossed the Rs 100 crore mark within 5 days and made it to the top three hits of the year. Mission Mangal is still soaring high with net collection of ₹ 164.61 cr., while John Abraham starrer Batla House too gained momentum and collected ₹ 83.78 cr overall.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the numbers of Mission Mangal on his Instagram and wrote, “#MissionMangal is displaying strong legs at the BO... Continues to surprise with solid trending on [second] Sat and Sun... No action / commercial trappings, yet the numbers are truly outstanding... [Week 2] Fri 7.83 cr, Sat 13.32 cr, Sun 15.30 cr. Talking about the numbers of Batla House, Taran Adarsh wrote, “BatlaHouse has been appreciated and that’s reflecting in its numbers...
