Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer Roohi released on Thursday after theatres being shut for almost a year. Roohi is one of the first films from Bollywood to release in the cinema halls amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The film opened on a good note as it collected Rs 3.06 Crore on its first day of release. However, Roohi witnessed a drop in numbers in its second-day collection. Yes, you read it right! The movie only collected Rs 2. 25 Crore on the second day of its release. The Hardik Mehta directorial witnessed a drop of over 25 percent in the collection. Roohi is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.
Fans cannot stop praising Janhvi Kapoor's performance in Roohi. Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma have also delivered a good performance. The stars have been promoting their movie in full swing. Earlier, in an interview with us, Janhvi explained why she is risking COVID to promote her film. The actress said, "We are asking people to come to the theatre to see Roohi. If we ask them to do so while sitting at home, why would they listen to our request?"
The actress further added, "Covid is not going away anywhere. We have to continue with our lives while taking all necessary precautions."
Talking about Roohi's comparison with Stree, Rajkummar Rao told a leading daily that it is totally unfair to his new film. Roohi and Stree are different films with new characters. "I hope people don't feel 'let's see what's common between Roohi and Stree'. I hope they see it as an independent film," he added.
