SECOND DAY COLLECTION: Aamir Khan’s Dangal Continues Its Dream Run At The Box-Office, Collects Rs 34.82 Crore!

Demonetization? What’s that? Aamir Khan’s Dangal which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra And Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles is unstoppable. After registering a whopping Rs 29.78 crore on Friday, it pocketed Rs 34. 82 crore on Saturday (Day 2).

Tweeting about the glorious response Dangal has been getting, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Dangal is UNSTOPPABLE... Does EXTRAORDINARY biz on Day 2... Fri 29.78 cr, Sat 34.82 cr. Total: ₹ 64.60 cr. [incl Tamil and Telugu].”

This takes the total collection of the film till now to Rs 64.60 crore! A thumbs up from critics and positive word of mouth worked in favour of the film. Taran had yesterday predicted that the film is set to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the first 3 days. Looking at the figures of day2, we don’t doubt that now.

The film is being loved by audiences abroad too.

It took Aamir Khan two years to bring his magnum opus to the big screen. And it looks like the wait was worth it. Director Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal is touted to be Bollywood’s one of the most powerful films on hope and glory. While it was a unanimous thumbs up for Aamir's acting prowess, there were those who said that credit has to go to the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, which brought out the best in Aamir.

The four debutants, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Hasim and Suhani Bhatnagar, too have got rave reviews. Given that Dangal has been applauded both critics and moviegoers, it looks like Aamir Khan is on his way to a box-office record. The fact that it's going to have a good three weeks before the next big release (OK Jaanu, January 13) hits the screens, will definitely help as well.
