Thappad Day 7 Box-Office Collection: Taapsee Pannu Starrer Does A Fair Job; Mints Descent Money In One Week
Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad that started on a decent note slowed down a bit post first three days. However, the film still fared well at the box office. Here's Thappad's one week's box-office collection
After Saand Ki Aankh, Taapsee Pannu came up with yet another hard-hitting subject that intrigued us with its trailer itself. We are talking about her film Thappad. The film was very much liked by the critics as well as the Twitterati and when we did an audience reaction, many called it a hard-hitting and an audacious movie. However, we couldn't see the same magic at the box-office windows. The film that started with Rs. 3.07 crore on its first day, Thappad has now collected Rs. 1.6 crore on day 7. Thus, taking the total to Rs. 22.79 crore at the box-office.
Going by the latest trend, it seems quite a decent number and was expected to be a clean hit if not a Super Hit like Anubhav’s last film Article 15 starring Ayushmann Khurrana. However, the film took a low start and couldn’t sustain the required levels but now the eyes are on the second weekend. Since Baaghi 3 released this Friday, March 6, we have to see how much will Thappad earn by the end of the second weekend. We aren't expecting the film to do great numbers on the second weekend, thanks to the Baaghi 3 craze.
Talking about Thappad, the movie is all about a woman who raises her voice against domestic violence, even if it is just one slap. A woman should not be okay and a man shouldn't get away with it so easily. We see how 'one slap' changes her love towards her husband and makes her realise how she was neglecting all the unfair things that were done by her husband in her martial phase.
Apart from Taapsee Pannu, the film also stars Dia Miraz, Pavail Gulati, Ram Kapoor, Tanvi Azmi. Thappad is produced by Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar and is scheduled to release on February 28, 2020.
